Our Top 5 Gravel Roads in Brown County

What to do when it’s a monsoon and the trails are closed in Brown County State Park?
Ride gravel!

Just because the singletrack is soaked doesn’t mean you have to hang up your bike. Brown County is home to some of the most scenic and fun gravel roads in the Midwest—perfect for a gravel or mountain bike adventure.

Did you know we rent gravel bikes? We’ve got the brand-new Kona Ouroboros, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite steeds. That said, I’ll be honest—some of my best gravel rides are still on my Transition TransAm or Transition Spur, because deep down, I’ll always be a mountain biker.

Even when the trails are a little (okay, a lot) too wet, there’s still so much beauty to take in out on the gravel. These routes offer peaceful rides, quiet corners of the county, and stunning views you can’t see from the main roads.

We’re also proud to be part of one of the most popular bikepacking routes in the Midwest: the Brown County Delight. It’s 69 miles with 3,660 feet of elevation, and it winds through challenging gravel, doubletrack, and even some singletrack—showcasing the best of Brown County. (Check out the full route here.)

But if you’re not looking to go full bikepacking mode, we’ve got you covered. You can roll straight from our bike shop onto these beautiful backroads.
